Time Lord Canons
These are profile samples designed to inspire other players, specifically based on Time Lords that appear in both the show and audio plays of Doctor Who. They draw from canon and can be found in multiple reference books, wikis, and writers' notes from the series' vast history.
They are merely meant as a starting board for ideas, so just browse them and come up with your own concepts! You certainly don't have to keep everything that is listed, and you can change whatever you like. Failure to develop these plot bunnies will result in utter sadness and misery on the part of the staff who worked very very hard to create them
If you're interested in playing one, they are also found on the main Show Canon List. You can reserve any in that thread rather than here.

The Hermit / K'anpo Rimpoche / Cho Je
Occupation: Self-Titled Space Guru
Suggested Playby: Given the Hermit's love for Tibetan culture it's only fitting that his latest playby be Tibetan or at least asian in some way. As with most Time Lords the Hermit could be either male or female and the actor could range from any age group - playbys could include Dichen Lachman or Suolang Nima or Rinko Kikuchi or Jackie Chan etc etc
Personality Sample: Already ancient when the Doctor and the Master were young. Has seen not just the Last Great Time War but the war against the Racnoss, the Vampire Swarms, the First and Second War in Heaven etc. When asked how many wars or what wars or where the wars were fought - the Hermit usually states that he fought in some - and lost most. Believes that simply by fighting you lose. Respects what the Time Lords are attempting to do in their efforts to rebuild; but fears the return of the Time Lords in any shape or form may simply lead to more war.
Unlike the Doctor - whose past has left him broken in many ways - the Hermit has remained serene across his variety of incarnations. Possessing a love for Tibetan culture (and little trust in 'new fangled' technology like a TARDIS) the Hermit uses various skills and tools to regularly visit the monasteries in the Tibetan mountains. The Doctor's love for humanity stemmed from the Hermit who had admired the species for many thousands of years and closely watched their development.
Prone to grumpiness and rambling to self in a corner belays a wisdom and knowledge stretching back to when Time Lords were known as the Gallifreyan Empire. Considered by the Doctor to be a hero and teacher up among Borusa, Innocet and even Omega - the Hermit has always filled a sort of father (and in one incarnation, mother) role to the Doctor. Close to and protective of Innocet (the closest thing he has to a daughter) as well as fond of Susan (the closest thing he has to a great-granddaughter) and Alex - the Hermit would like to put them, the Doctor, Innocet (and maybe Romana if she wasn't being so difficult) into a nice safe little bubble and just talk with them for the rest of eternity.
History Sample: The Doctor attempts to round his age - depending on incarnation you'll get anywhere from 400 to 700 all the way up to 1300 and finally 2000. The Hermit gave age estimates up millennia ago. Part of an ancient order of Time Lord monks who believed in harnessing and perfecting a Time Lord's natural telepathic and telekinetic gifts; the Hermit would tell stories to young Gallifreyan children when they would visit his hut on Gallifrey. Ushas, Magnus, Koschie and the Doctor (to name a few) would regularly visit and listen to the old man. Forced to depart Gallifrey when his order was disestablished (though the Hermit will state from time to time that it was actually HE who was disestablished) was visited by a distraught Doctor on the day of his departure. Gave the young man advice that would one day lead to him exploring all of time and space.
Settled on Earth and retired to buddhist meditation center on Earth. Became the abbot for the center after a number of years and was involved not only in preparing the first Doctor for his regeneration but the Third Doctor as well. Used up his last regeneration to protect the Doctor and help him - spent several centuries after this traveling the stars with what time he had left. Was greeted by his most beloved student (the Doctor in his sixth incarnation) on his final day and thanked for his wisdom. Was brought back with a new regenerative cycle during the later years of the Time War in attempt by Rassilon to harness the abilities of the Hermit's old order on a suggestion from the War Doctor to find an alternative to new weaponry. Disgusted not only that the Time Lords were resorting to war - but by what his student had become - the Hermit refused to help and was imprisoned in the Death Zone despite the protests of the War Doctor.
Was trapped in the Death Zone for the remainder of the war - faced all manner of creatures and torment but endured. On the last day of the war the Hermit felt the Moment being activated and called out to the Eternals who were fleeing this dimension - sensing the Hermit's unique mental imprint and ancient identity the Eternals gathered the Hermit into their arms and fled into the next dimension. All too content to remain isolated from the universe that had become that much more unkind. However, recent conflicts within the ranks of the Eternals over whether or not to return to their home dimension has caused the Hermit to depart them and return alone. Some think the Hermit may have returned after sensing something changing in the status quo. Some think the Hermit has returned because Susan and Alex have survived. Some, usually the majority, simply think the Hermit mad.
Skills: Has no trust or talent with TARDISes or most (really any) machines. Is capable of projecting himself through time - I.E. using his own body as a TARDIS. Can even take others with him. How he is capable of this is unknown as he is all that remains of his ancient order. Has sworn never to teach his abilities to others - though he did bend the rules 'slightly' to train Innocet in the use of her natural gifts. Possesses powerful telepathic and emphatic abilities far beyond those of the average Time Lord - I.E. doesn't require touch to read minds and can will his thoughts into your mind.

Occupation: Refers to self as 'a beat cop' (though this may be due to recent incarnation's enjoyment of Earth 50's period mystery novels) but is known to most everyone else as the current Castellan and head of the Chancellery guard. Charged with protection not only for the General but for the various leaders of the Time Lord factions.
Suggested Playby: Male or female - could be young, could be old - tough looking might be the way to go though someone who doesn't 'look the part' could take criminals off guard. The possiblities are endless with someone like this. Is probably only on second or third incarnation despite being several hundred years old - could be played by anyone ranging from Bill Smitrovich to Stana Katic to Julian McMahon to Peter Falk to Sofie Graaboel to Rene Auberjonois etc etc etc
Personality Sample: Grumpy. Committed to the protection of others. Logical. Talented deductive mind. Has no head for politics or the usual power-games played by the council. Disagreed with the Time War from the start - may have PTSD problems over the various aliens Spandrell was forced to train as militia units during the early years of the Time War.
If female - tomboy and possessing several more masculine traits; seldom lets softer side show. If Male very brusque to others, speaks only two or three words when needed and is easily annoyed.
Respects the General and admires Romana (despite being older than her) and trusts her more than any other person except for Flavia. Is very protective of Romana as a result - respects Leela and relies on her to perform in ways the Chancellery guard can't. Keeps an eye on Flavia (though unlike most, can tell she resents the attention given her condition) and will eat lunch with her nearly every day.
Very seldom seen outside of personal office (some say Spandrell has a secret hidey-hole in there) though when Spandrell does go home it's to read another mystery novel and get a nice relaxing soak in the bath.
History Sample: Comes from a lower-level house with no real chance at advancement. Given up to the Time Lords in the hopes of finding a better future. Gifted in logical thought processes as well as maintaining and manipulating various types of technology. Graduated with honors. Performed admirably as Castellan and head of the Chancellery guard for several centuries - found himself unfortunately out of his depth when the Master assassinated a member of the High Council. Despite his assistance to the Doctor and attempts to apprehend the Master; was blamed by the CIA for the resulting fall-out and stripped of his rank.
Reinstated by Flavia who needed someone to lead the Chancellery guard that she could trust - remained in her service until the vote of no confidence and took over Castellan duties for Romana and eventually Rassilon. Became displeased with Rassilon's actions during the war - forced to train aliens on outlying planets to create militias (basically fodder) for Rassilon to use against the Daleks. Hated the continuous stripping of his officer's ranks and eventually their titles as more and more Time Lords were pressed into military service. Is a bit more 'eccentric' than previous incarnation though no less irascible and determined to do job. History with various Gallifreyan factions makes him one of the few people all sides will trust (along with the General) and he is responsible for security for the Capitol, the Panopticon and the Ruins of Arcadia. Has developed fondness for old fifties-style mystery novels though shares this trait with few people.
Skills: Talented detective and technician. Gifted in hand-to-hand combat and the use of various sonic technology and weapons. Trained several civilian forces during the Last Great Time War.

Occupation: Bad Girl... or Boy... or neither
Suggested Playby: Is probably only on second or third incarnation - while the Doctor likes to go around saving the universe; Drax is more interested in just fixing things and moving on. Could be played by anyone ranging from Cara Delevingne to Paul Rudd to Reese Witherspoon to Will Ferrell all the way up to Zooey Deschanel with - of course - the utterly required brainy specs.
Personality Sample: Very much not a hero - concerned primarily with freedom. Drax's beloved TARDIS (always in the shape of a variety of different classic cars) what it is - what it truly is - is freedom. Likes to fix things - or simply can't not fix things. Lands in places - looks around for a quick score or a nice bar - finds something broken or damaged and simply MUST fix it.
Wears affable cheerfulness like a second skin - can almost never be found not smiling or grinning or telling some HORRIBLE off-color joke that offends everyone and utterly amuses Drax. Carries a sizable amount of survivors guilt - night terrors are a frequent problem and will chug energy drinks to avoid sleep. Loved members of house but never able to come to terms with them. House members slaughtered shortly before departure from Gallifrey. Seldom tells anyone about this. Friendship with the Doctor strained because of the War - angry more that the Doctor would give up and become the Warrior than anything else.
Drax will try to help people if they are in trouble - though usually is concerned with simply making sure they escape or their safe before simply running off again. Has had several failed marriages and relationships with various species. Past incarnation spent several hundred years in prison - picked up several dirty habits and a variety of bad accents. Not a snappy dresser or all that concerned with personal hygiene - likes to hug a lot. Creeps people out when Drax does this. Always tinkering or fiddling with something - has broken own TARDIS down into several pieces only to put it back together again simply to fix a light switch. Is slightly OCD but only about tools and things that Drax identifies as 'mine'. Others don't touch Drax's stuff.
History Sample: Part of an established house with a rich background - rejected all this before the age of eight when family tried to tell him what plans they had for him. Enrolled in the Time Lord Academy as a novice. Gifted with technology - but lacking in natural temporal talents - was facing expulsion when he was noticed by the Time Lord Borusa. Taken under the older Time Lord's wing alongside Time Lords like the Doctor, Ushas and Koschie. Became one of the first members of the Deca (rebellious group of Time Lord youths selected for special studies by Borusa) even allowed to own a personal skimmer and take it for flights around the Capitol. Flashy nature led to a short-lived romantic encounter with Ushas (despite the girls insistence that he was a pig) during the Doctor's graduation party. Was sworn to NEVER tell another living soul about that night - though will still reference it from time to time just to annoy her.
Came to admire and respect 'the old man' (the name Drax had for Borusa) and may even have had romantic feelings for the older teacher. Respect and admiration kept Drax's nature in check long enough to graduate - when Borusa began choosing positions for his 'best students' among the Time Lord elite Drax fought with 'the old man' and ran. Spent time in prison. Got drunk. Lost his ship. Got drunk again. Spent more time in prison. Got a tatoo. Burnt it off. Got Drunk again. Repaired several million things and took time away from that busy schedule to help the Doctor find the key to Time.
Spent several hundred years on Atrios - saw it as a challenge to literally 'repair' a whole new world. Never really cared who was moving in after he was done or even bothered to stay around in the 'repaired' parts long enough to appreciate it. Ignored the call to Gallifrey when the Time War began. Didn't try to save lives on both sides like the Doctor - simply wanted to go about living his own life. Lost family when a Dalek infiltration group slaughtered them. Drax was fatally stabbed by a Dalek assassin as he tried to get his family out of the burning ruin of their house.
Since regenerating Drax has dealt with multiple psychological issues in the form of night terrors and insomnia primarily from energy drinks and various 'stimulants' designed to keep night terrors away. Works harder - fly's faster - hits quicker and spends more time in prison than in previous incarnation. Has an obligation to the General, the Doctor, Romana and a massive amount of guilt concerning the death of Drax's house. Spends a lot of time in Arcadia attempting to rebuild the city brick-by-brick despite still having a TARDIS. Guilt over the death of house keeps Drax from running TOO far... though has been known to get one or two younger Time Lords and run off with them for a night on the town.
Skills: A technological and cybernetics genius (even compared to people like the Doctor and Narvin) Drax isn't so good with the 'timey-wimey' side of things; possesses an almost psychological need to 'fix' anything that may be broken. Drax is skilled not just in weapons use but in hand-to-hand combat (especially eye-gouging and groin-smashing) and - most importantly - able to out-drink just about any life form in existence.

Darkel / Dari
Occupation: Mental Patient
Suggested Playby: Variable - could be any gender from any age group ranging from exceedingly young (someone like Odeya Rush or Taylor Kitsch or Abigail Breslin or Jamie Campbell Bower) to someone in their much later years (such as Bill Murray or Judi Dench or Ian McDiarmid or Maggie Smith) character is mentally unstable - playby choice should reflect that visually.
Personality Sample: Childlike. Innocent. Naive. Resurrection and enslavement attempt against Pandora left Darkel (Dari as she calls herself) broken. Much of her memory gone or broken in several places. Mentalscape shattered - has retreated into the personality and safety of childhood and seldom acts as anything but a large child. Cares about the Hand of Time and Romana (despite their former differences) but is too mentally unstable to do anything about it.
Generally protected and cared for by Flavia (former teacher) and spends the majority of free time wandering the hand of time station. Can remember fragments of her past and the person she once was - but is scared of the darkness her previous self acted on to try and force justice and usually hides these thoughts under a constant stream of childishness. Possesses a short attention span, hyperactivity and suffers from short-term memory-loss. May actually retain the intelligence of her past self but mental damage and current personality makes it difficult to tell.
Is claustrophobic as a result of her imprisonment in a tiny cell under the Capitol as well as terrified of the dark. Wishes to be 'normal' but has buried self in current identity - too cowardly to be anything but a child. Figures it's easier to forget what's going on around her than to remember why her past self did what she did. Regeneration possible but no guarantee it would lead to stability or even healing as part of Darkel's mind were removed when the Pandora was torn out of it.
History Sample: Born Darkelatraquistahastrad into the house of Jurisprudence. Concerned with justice and law from a young age - took role as arbiter and judge of the Sixth Doctor's trial to try and see justice done in an untenable situation. Honest but firm - realized system was broken after several centuries attempting to balance Time Lord policy with what was right. Came to believe outside forces were twisting Gallifreyan politics - became increasingly conservative and xenophobic. Vehemently opposed actions by President Romana to bring Gallifrey into the greater galactic community.
Manipulated by an ancient force from the dawn of the time lords known as Pandora. Pandora claimed to be seeking a way to take over Romana's body and exist in physical form once more. Darkel then led a short civil war against Romana (as well as several other attempts at removing Romana from the presidency) and managed to achieve a short-lived stay as acting president before being consumed by Pandora who had been targeting Darkel from the beginning.
Brought back by Rassilon and the High Council during the early years of the Time War in an attempt to force Pandora to use her unique powers to advance Time Lord goals. Separation of Pandora from Darkel allowed Pandora to manifest but left Darkel broken as much of her mind was taken by Pandora and left her a gibbering reclusive wreck. Darkel imprisoned in the lower levels of the capitol. Attempts by Pandora to manipulate the High Council and even take Rassilon saw her destroyed shortly before the end of the Time War.
Darkel forgotten in bowels of the Capitol - took to calling herself Dari with her personality becoming more and more innocent and child-like as she forced herself to forget the 'bad girl' (Darkel's original self) who tried to destroy 'the nice blonde woman' (Romana) and promised that she would 'always be good' if she were freed from her cell. Found by Leela during a scouting mission - rescued by Romana who felt pity for the person Darkel became and the condition Rassilon left her in.
Managed to stabilize Darkel (somewhat) through triggering a regeneration (Darkel's first) but left massive amounts of mental damage as well as destroying what little remained of Darkel's original personality. Dari - as Darkel insists everyone calls her - spends time exploring Gallifrey (especially the ruins of Arcadia) she likes children, sweets and pleasing others. Very little of original self remains and is something of a joke among most of the population. Constantly wandering and exploring - spends most of non-exploring downtime visiting former teacher Flavia who always has treats and will just listen when 'Dari' wants to talk. Even if it's about nothing.
Skills: Resulting extraction of Pandora left 'Dari' with a large mental defect - capable of reading minds without touch but is unable to stop it. Constantly bombarded with the thoughts of others and prone to rambling off sections of whatever happens to pass through Dari's damaged mind. Childlike personality and innocence hides genius intellect and quick learning skills - able to reproduce action or performance simply by seeing it.

Occupation: Former Commando and General Bad-Ass
Suggested Playby: Action girls (or guys) would be the way to go for Rodan - her original incarnation was something of a girly-girl and not very bright (a young time lady even younger than Romana) this changed during the Time War. Anyone ranging from Lucy Lawless to Adam Baldwin to Liam Neeson to Lena Headey and so on. Could be on second, third, fourth or fifth regeneration - up to player. Given posting to special forces likely to be on third regeneration as Rodan only fought on the front lines during the early years of the war.
Personality Sample: Tough. Harsh. Expects the best from self and the same from others. Honorable to a fault - kills only when there is no other option; but will injure, wound, torture and maim if it means protecting the people that need to be protected. Hates doctor's and hospitals and - especially - therapists who insist there is nothing wrong with Rodan's leg. It hurts - constantly - and despite regeneration has been unable to get it to stop hurting.
Carries a large amount of PTSD (constantly checking weapons when on down time, walks with a limp despite the loss of leg happening to a previous incarnation and remaining in top physical condition through pointless exercises) due to the Time War. Raving insomniac - deals with sleep-walking and night-terrors when Rodan does manage to sleep. Status as a soldier causes Rodan to have little respect for the the law enforcement officials in the Capitol (often argues with Spandrell about how to perform his duties) and regularly patrols council chambers to try and catch something The Chancellery guard have missed.
Secretly misses the naivete and softness previous self was capable of. Lonely and isolated but unable to tell anyone about it as Rodan feels totally friendless outside of Leela - determined to maintain Leela's respect and is uncomfortable even admitting own problems.
History Sample: Considered a pretty girl with a pretty face from a pretty house - treated like little more than an ornament on a shelf from childhood. Attempted to impress house and the people around her with limited success in the Time Lord academy - graduated with average scores much to her chagrin. Attempts to impress people with limited knowledge of the greater galaxy met with much the same level of success. Posted to pointless dead-end job monitoring a red light in a traffic control station on Gallifrey.
Befriended Leela and the Doctor during the invasion of the Vardans and subsequently the Sontarans. Was Leela's maid of honor at her wedding. Angrily enlisted in the Time Lord military shortly before the onset of the Time War after an argument over how 'capable' she was of taking care of herself. Originally expected her placement on the rotation lists would keep her out of active duty. Pushed into active service when Time Lord allies began to grow thin. Lost leg, bled-out and regenerated during the destruction of the Zygon homeworld. Still has nightmares of the pain Rodan endured trying (and eventually failing) to stay alive and walks with a limp to this day.
Talent for killing Daleks and knowledge of alien communications gained her a position with an elite Time Lord Commando unit posted to the orders of The General himself. Performed many successful missions under his guiding hand but bit by bit lost her squad members until Rodan was all that remained. Became embittered when Gallifrey returned and the General wouldn't allow Rodan to resume former post because of psychological issues. Secretly has feelings for the General though these feelings were unrequited. Measures all potential love-interests to the General and has remained solitary ever since return to the galaxy.
Skills: Quick-thinking and self-reliant. Years as a mid-level pencil-pusher and button-watcher led to Rodan developing a unique skill among Time Lords - Omnilingualism without a TARDIS. Originally - being a telepathic race - Time Lords were instantly capable of understanding any form of speech. The decline of their empire and the growing reliance of their species on technology lost them this skill. Rodan seemed to develop it from her youth and has retained it - becoming communications officer to the General for many years of the Time War. Expert hand-to-hand combatant and trained in various weapons.

Suggested Playby: The Corsair was the first televised Time Lord to be 'shown' (somewhat) to switch genders on regeneration. According to the Ninth and Fourth Doctor's and Flavia (who had a tryst with several male and a female versions of the Corsair) this happened multiple times. The Corsair (as a result) could be any gender. The only semi-canonical image we have of the Corsair is a Drawing done for the 2012 Brilliant book. Obviously the Corsair favors skimpy and outlandish clothing - and probably is the reason the Doctor wants to be ginger (since the Corsair probably has been before) as a result I could suggest actors like Gillian Anderson or Thomas Knight (the model not the actor) or Christina Hendricks (the funny part being that Christina's hair is actually blonde and the Corsair would dye it just to confuse people) or Damian Lewis or Amy Adams etc etc
Personality Sample: Eccentric. Flirtatious. Ostentatious. Spur-of-the-moment. Curious - the Corsair is like a character out of a bygone era; believes in chivalry (whether a lord or a lady his or herself) and sweeping people (notice people - meaning even the odd Knight) off their feet. Believes in casual sex simply for the sake of it - but has loved only one person in the Corsair's various lifetimes (Flavia) and wishes that Flavia knew the Corsair was alive again.
Wants to see EVERYTHING - the Corsair's knowledge of the Seven Galaxies rivals the Doctor's. The two will try to outdo each other with random facts about random corners of space whenever they meet - usually through a drinking game where the other will have to take a shot upon the naming of a species or planet.
Since returning has begun running even farther and faster than ever before - wants to see what has changed (knows very little about the Time War) and is terrified of meeting other Time Lords or going home because of the Sontaran implants monitoring the Corsair's every step. Has run into several Sontaran capture-squads (the optical implants in Corsair's eyes are constantly broadcasting to Sontaran high-command) but has remained free so far. Secretly pines for Flavia and wants to go home - but doesn't want to place others in danger.
History Sample: Loomed into a boring house in a boring corner of Gallifrey. Spent centuries attending a boring academy getting boring grades. Joined the Deca - tossed out by Borusa for hiding Rovie's in his best robe - and suspended several times. Became the Doctor, Ushas and Koschie's drinking mate because he was the only one old enough to get alcohol. Eccentric but not quite as rebellious as the rest of Borusa's students - was willing to find adventure while working within the system.
After washing out as a recruit for the Celestial Intervention Agency - became part of the advanced Time Lord scouting program and sought to map all of time and space. Became involved with the first, second and third Universal Surveys. Visited more planets in one regeneration than any other Time Lord - even became a God to a tiny little group of humans called the Assyrians. Was grounded when the near-theft of the Portrait of Rassilon was blamed on the Corsair. Attempts to clear name failed - tried to seduce Lady President Flavia into clearing the charges.
Ended up falling in love with Flavia and withdrew the request for clearance of the charges to stay with her. Was cleared anyway by Flavia as the Corsair's lover knew it would kill the Corsair to stay on Gallifrey. Stayed in touch with Flavia and resumed their relationship during several different regenerations; though always leaving in the end. Threatened to leave the scouting program and shut down the Universal Surveys when Flavia was arrested and the Sixth Doctor was put on trial. Half-cajoled half-blackmailed the Master into speaking on the Doctor's behalf.
Ended up knocking the Master out when the Master revealed who the Valeyard was to the Doctor, despite the Corsair being tiny and female at the time.
Romana's call for a vote of no confidence nearly ended the Corsair's involvement with the scout program - but Flavia's insistence that the Corsair could do so much good and that the Corsair couldn't survive living in one place at the same time kept her from abandoning the project. Enrollment in the Fourth Universal Survey during the Corsair's Ninth Regeneration cost the Corsair his life and left Flavia despondent as well as formally dissolving the scout program shortly before the official beginning of the Time War. Return of Time Lords post Time-War captured Sontaran attention - but the lack of equivalent technology (or a race to manipulate into attacking for them) made attacking Gallifrey again impossible.
Traces of Artron energy led the Sontarans to the now sub-zero sinkhole at the end of the universe. The discovery of a Time Lord spine, hearts and various other organs contained in the frozen bodies of two composite humanoids allowed the Sontarans to effectively 'grow' a Time Lord. Time Lord hearts provide protection and regulation during regeneration - Time Lord spinal columns contain backups of memories and guidelines for the regenerative process. Cloning technology and growth formulas allowed the Sontarans to give the spine just enough Time Lord DNA to resume functioning. Pumping the energy of three Sontaran battle cruisers into their Frankenstein-esq creation; the Sontarans were utterly destroyed when the regeneration started but there was no intact body to contain and restrict the energy.
Jumpstart of spinal column and various pieces of the dead version of the Corsair allowed the Corsair to be resurrected and reset the Corsair's regeneration cycle. Sontaran captors and battle-cruisers were destroyed by the feedback of regenerative energy. However; Sontaran technology implanted into the Corsair's brain left the Corsair at the control of any Sontaran who figures out how to use it. Implants are sealed and cannot be destroyed by regeneration. Eyes are constantly broadcasting anything the Corsair see's to Sontaran command. Corsair stole Vortex Manipulator and has been on the run both from the Sontarans and own people ever since - can't risk the Sontarans setting foot on Gallifrey or any other races discovering the survival of the Time Lords.
Skills: Most gifted pilot in recent Time Lord memory. Capable of flying anything from a TARDIS to a Sherman Tank. An explorer - eager to experience the unknown. Talented bare-fist fighter - trained with Koschei in fencing and trained with the Doctor in Venusian Akido. Well-versed in customs from other worlds throughout the galaxy. Survivalist well trained in surviving off the land - though prone to preferring a place with running water when female.

Occupation: Keeper of Lungbarrow
Suggested Playby: Mystical 'not-all-there-looking' women or men (usually from a fantasy setting) is the way to go here. Just recently regenerated for the third time - powers and mind a little unstable and still adjusting to new body. Previous regeneration died of exhaustion and old age much like first regeneration. Joanne Whalley or John Rhyes-Davies or Emilia Clarke or Lee Pace.
Personality Sample: Has a large heart. Maternal. Kind. Compassionate. Protective. Wise. Gentle and loving. Despite what has been done to Innocet - there has been little personality change since childhood. Loves stories about ancient Time Lord history - though really any history will do. Quarters on the Hand of Time jam-packed with brail books from across the galaxy dealing specifically in history.
Has a hidden shelf that contains romantic and high fantasy novels - seldom shows this to others. Goes there when blindness becomes too depressing or powers become too painful to cope with and Innocet needs isolation. Is often visited by the Hermit during these times. The Hermit will grump and fuss at Innocet for being 'boring' enough to become depressed. Usually manages to anger Innocet enough for Innnocet to strike at the Hermit with her powers - the resulting release making Innocet unload whatever problem there is and cry as the Hermit provides comfort.
Has desired children to raise since youth - sterility rendered this impossible. Filled that void with younger family members (especially the Doctor) and now the various orphans living on Gallifrey. Is very logical and intelligent - also strong and dependable. Has protected the orphans as the Doctor was protected during his youth. Will go to extreme lengths to protect others from injustice.
History Sample: Born to the same house as the Doctor, Irving and later John - Innocet was one of Lungbarrow's first attempts at achieving a seat on the High Council. Became a Librarian instead. Returned to Lungbarrow permanently when House Keeper Quences became ill. Attempted to keep order and productivity moving inside Lungbarrow - was there when the Doctor joined them.
Protected him from other family members - told him stories of the Time Lords and inspired him. Introduced him to her friend, foster-father and Mentor the Hermit. Was there when the Doctor left for the Academy. Was the last person to give up on the Doctor when the other house members declared him a renegade. Lost her faith in the Doctor when one of her relatives murdered House Keeper Quences and blamed the Doctor.
Took to reclusive behavior and resigned from her position as records-keeper to try and hold the house together after it was stricken from the Matrix and buried. Wouldn't cut hair as her body began to wither - claiming she wouldn't cut it until the Doctor returned and apologized. Death of the Hermit was final blow - became so despondent that she wouldn't leave her library. Took to using her powers to try and see the future in the hopes of finding a future where the Doctor came home and the Hermit was still alive.
Died in the Doctor's arms upon his return and proving of his innocence. Destruction of Lungbarrow nearly cost the lives of the Doctor, Innocet and all her cousins. Ancient body unlikely to survive regeneration but did with the help of the Doctor. Was named Kithriarch and Keeper of the House of Lungbarrow by the Doctor. Given coral seed from the Doctor for a new Lungbarrow to be grown in it's place. Attempts to being new house foiled by High Council and forced Innocet to move back to the capitol with what was left of her family.
Forced to resume job as records-keeper to provide for family. Assisted in the revival of the Master, Darkel and eventually Rassilon. Was finally given permission to grow new house but official announcement of War meant that she would be unable to until the end of the War. Was conscripted as one of the Seer prototypes alongside the Rani. Natural gifts meant there was no need to open her mind - but was temporally blinded (natural sight taken permanently and removed from all future regenerations) to force her to see the future at all times. Saved by Romana shortly before the last day of the Time War. Subsequent near-destruction and returned caused Innocet to have a heart attack and regenerate. Has only just begun to adjust to new body - mostly because Innocet spends any time not caring for people either reading, or looking for lost relics. Will probably exhaust self to death again given the chance.
Skills: Carries coral shard of the house of Lungbarrow in a broach around neck. Will talk to it from time to time to help it grow. Dreams of growing a new version of Lungbarrow. Blinded permanently by Rassilon. Still has nightmares of the ceremony that robbed Innocet's sight. One of the only Time Lords trained by the Hermit to use natural telekinesis. Capable of using it as a weapon - hates doing so as Innocet feels it exploits and sullies the gift. Telepathy beyond the level of most Time Lord's; combination of abilities allows Innocet to see future events through the use of cards. Will stack the cards in a castle shape - using telekinesis to keep them together. Completion of castle and then allowing it to collapse allows Innocet to see pieces of the future.

Occupation: Coordinator for the Celestial Intervention Agency
Suggested Playby: Spy-thrillers are the way to go here. Has only just regenerated for the third or fourth time. Possibly Jeffrey Donovan or Jennifer Garner or Coby Bell or Halle Berry or Daniel Craig or Anna Chapman
Personality Sample: Sardonic. Sarcastic. Icy (female incarnation was known as the Ice-Queen by her agents... and iron-drawers by her staff) and efficient. Narvin knows what has to be done and is willing to do whatever is needed to accomplish it. Joined Romana in the Hand of Time project - provided protection when she met with the Master for a way to save their people. One of the only members of the CIA to protest the return of Rassilon. Stripped of rank and retired forcibly when Rassilon was brought back.
Believes like Romana that the Time Lords can be saved - but would rather they work from a military position. They are dying - running out of people - they need unity. Would enforce Military Law if the War Council could get enough backing - often argues with the General and the High Council on this point. Was once told by the Corsair that Narvin might be a tolerable person if he would remove the pole stuck up his backside and join her (the Corsair was female at the time) in a little mattress tango.
Resulting fist fight was said by the Corsair to be ALMOST as good as sex.
Is a strict and harsh authoritarian. Expects the best from others and has garnered a measure of respect from Leela (Narvin's 'warrior prowess' as Leela calls it) and Rodan who believes Narvin to be one of the few 'capable' people to survive Gallifrey's near-apocalypse. Intensely miss-trusted by Flavia (despite Narvin's support during Flavia's presidency) and often comes to words. Considers the General the best chance they've got of survival and attempts to work with her - despite how often they disagree on things.
History Sample: Born Narvinectralonum to a low-level house; Narvin studied for centuries to be a technician and graduated with honors from the chapter of Patrex. Was involved in the creation of the Timonic Fusion Device. Was naive and believed in his leaders at the time. Complied with orders from project leader and activated it despite warnings from Time Lord Ambassador. Resulting explosion cost Narvin a regeneration and saw the destruction of the planet they were operating on. Cover-up by Celestial Intervention Agency saw Narvin recruited. Animosity between Narvin and Time Lord High Council retained from then-on.
Disagreed with the CIA on removal of Flavia from the presidents seat - found her rebellious but easily anticipated. Was overturned and forced to comply with her removal. Was involved in the Pandora incident and the Gallifreyan civil war that saw the death of Darkel and the destabilization of the Time Lord government. Achieved supreme authority of the CIA shortly before the beginning of the Pandora incident and retained it until the return of Rassilon. Protested the revival of the Master and the experiments done on Darkel, Innocet and the Rani. Secretly assisted Flavia in achieving her re-appointment to the High Council records-keeper and Under-secretary to have a window into operations.
Fought against the revival of Rassilon and was punished upon his return - cost him his job, his position, his title and his current body - regenerated into a female form. Worked with the War Council and the High Council to protect and defend Gallifrey during the end of the Time War. Regenerated during the last day and has only recently resumed active duty. Has become more militant and determined to protect Gallifrey now that it has returned. Joined the rest of the fractured Gallifreyan political landscape in voting for the General as their new leader. Beginning to regret this choice as the General - despite her name - wants to work towards compromise and peace. While Narvin is willing to consider peace - Narvin is ALSO willing to look for alternatives... if any exist.
Skills: Crack-shot. Sniper. Trained in Sonic and Stazer weaponry. Engineering and cybernetics expert rivaling Drax. Espionage and covert operative trained to operate on long missions with little supplies. Competent TARDIS pilot - prefers Vortex Manipulators, Time Rings, Temporal Corridors and various cheap-and-cheerful methods of time travel. Never wholly comfortable with the idea of the ship Narvin's flying being alive.

Occupation: Former Lab-Rat, Current Vegetable
Suggested Playby: The Rani has always had a fetish for the color red - we chose Tilda Swinton and couldn't REALLY think of anyone else because Swinton matches the Rani so well. If you've got your own idea let us know
Personality Sample: Believes in science for the sake of science. Various experiments, lab-tests and designs have all been in the hopes of finding 'the perfect species' - whatever that might be. Despises the use of her original name - Ushas - and any reference to the President's cat, her life as a student or any event from her childhood. Thinks the Master is stupid - wants the Doctor to grow up - mocks Drax at every opportunity and would like to wipe out the Sontarans for bringing the Corsair back and giving the Corsair another chance to annoy her.
By her logic if the Time Lords are dying out - they deserved it. That's how evolution works logically. If they are to survive then Romana really is the only hope - being young enough to affect change and all. Her new regeneration is a little unstable - prone to rambling random facts that pass through her mind. Talks quickly and in strange tones when trying to converse with people. Painful experiments make her frightened (re: terrified) of physical contact and will lead to her striking people who come to close.
Believes and constantly states that she is above something as base as emotion. Current body makes this difficult - the Doctor has suggested she must feel some connection to the various creations she's made over the years because not only has she never been able to destroy any of them - the incident that got her exiled was tied to her only because she tried to save the giant lab mouse she'd made. Crying and begging the Time Lords not to destroy it in front of the high council. The Doctor has even suggested she feels that way - to some extent - for the people she cares about. Truth of this statement unconfirmed and unlikely due to the Rani attempting to kill so many of the people she once considered a friend.
Is terrified of being the 'chubby scared little girl' again as that was what she considers to have been the 'low-point' in her life. Became so closed because of treatment during childhood and never really recovered after the Master tried to start a civil war and the Doctor (as well as most of the rest of her friends) ran away from Time Lord society. Refuses to admit that she is barely clinging on to her sanity or how scarred her mental state truly is. Prone to insomnia, night terrors, muscle spasms and hallucinations brought on by new powers. Wants to prove her logical and genius mind and is angry whenever anyone doubts it.
History Sample: Was born the same year as the Doctor to house known for it's scientists and technicians. Enjoyed playing hide-and-seek with the Doctor and the Master. Highly logical mind made her predictable and would always lead to the Doctor and the Master finding her during the course of the game. Had a weight problem during youth that led to her being tormented - mean and icy demeanor developed once she was posted to the academy. Used her genius to get back at the people who tormented her. Supported the Master in his endeavor to bring the Doctor into the Deca. Was protective of the Doctor and all her friends - played several nasty tricks on anyone who tried to hurt them.
Considered the most intelligent member of the Deca - shared her ninety-fourth birthday with the Doctor and gave him a fruit she'd found using a Time-Scoop that she said was called a Pear. Got drunk at the Doctor's graduation and accidentally brought a giant rat through her time-scoop. Woke up in bed with Drax and swore him to never tell a living soul. The civil war that the Master attempted to start led to the Rani closing herself off - especially after the Doctor, Drax, the Master and many other members of the Deca fled Gallifrey. Left Gallifrey herself after an experiment cost the life of the current President of Gallifrey and said president's cat. The death of the Cat was often referenced in High Council proceedings and became something of a joke the Rani was never able to live down.
Various conflicts with the Master, the Doctor and other members of the Deca led to her cutting all ties to the past. Came to desire the creation of a 'perfect species' to fill the role of the Time Lords. Believing the High Council and Gallifrey too corrupt to lead or protect time anymore. The theft of her TARDIS cost the Rani her first life and led to the 'mass-of-red-curls' she carried there-after. The advent of the Time War provided the Rani with a large number of new test subjects for her quest to find the perfect species - namely in the Daleks and the various allies the Time Lords unleashed on the galaxy. The Rani became something of a ghoul as she would wander battlefields and harness survivors before the council or the daleks could get to them.
Sadly, as the war dragged on and the High Council became more and more desperate; Rassilon was revived. Reinstating several practices from the dawn of the Time Lords - Rassilon began harvesting sisters from Karn for experiments in recreating Seers (women capable of seeing all of time at once) but would first need a lab-rat with a bloodline that stretched back to ancient times. The Rani and the Doctor's older cousin Innocet were chosen. Went on the run upon hearing of this. Hid her TARDIS - knowing her capture was imminent. Mocked Rassilon when she was captured and even said there was nothing he could do to her that she could not survive.
Innocent blinded and used for practical experiments - the Rani was used for more extreme experiments due to her blood-ties to the Sisterhood and status as a Time Lord. The Rani's mind was ripped open and the Time Vortex funneled directly into her cerebral cortex. Wounding her current body fatally - Rassilon then trapped her at the threshold of Regeneration; providing her with an endless source of energy with which to view all of time. Side-effects included trapping her body in a chrone-like state but inhibiting her ability to regenerate. Further - though she was aware of her surroundings - the Rani was unable to stop seeing all of time flying through her brain; or keep it from tumbling out her mouth as she ranted and raved possible futures to the people around her.
Kidnapped by Romana shortly before the escape into E-Space - hoping to prevent Rassilon from finding out about the hand of Time. The Rani remained stuck in current existence as shutting down the process could result in her body crumbling to dust. Various geniuses and techs have attempted to find a way to stabilize her but to no avail. The Rani can't blink - can't move - can't stop talking and can't think as time flies through her mind. And no one can help her.
Has recently been moved to her own private medical ward on Gallifrey by order of the General - who believes her use as a weapon has ended and its time to actually help her if possible. Failing that, make her as comfortable as possible before the inevitable end.
Skills: Currently able to see all of time - prevents her from conversing with the people around her or even blinking. Rambles off events as they fly through her brain - then starts the process all over again. Is capable of 'looking' at the time line of any planet or event when ordered to - the older the planet the more pain there is associated with it. The Rani will scream or cry when forced to look at a particularly old planet but will reveal unfolding events as required. When not ordered to look at a time or planet she will quietly mutter to herself - random events from random things that haven't happened yet that make no sense to people standing around her.
In a more natural state the Rani is a genius - dancing, history, technology, cybernetics... all come to her as naturally as breathing. Is also a capable killer though even her original self was not particularly gifted in terms of physical combat. Can read and play several different types of music but hasn't don't this in several hundred years since leaving Gallifrey. Transformation into the prototype seer has gifted the Rani with an advanced level of telepathy rivaling people like Innocet or even the Hermit. Much like Darkel however - the Rani can't turn it off. She is constantly aware of the thoughts around her and even after she's allowed to regenerate this will remain a problem for her probably for the rest of her lives.
